Job summary

Grainger Technology Group (GTG) internship in downtown Chicago offers hands-on design experience with the UX team, spanning customer and employee tools to support real business outcomes.

As a User Experience Design Intern, you will work with a Lead UX Designer, translate insights into wireframes, prototypes, and design concepts, and present learnings to technology leaders at the end of the summer.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Human‑Centered Design, Design Methods, HCI, Visual Design, UX Design, Product Design, or related field.
• Expected graduation between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Understanding of design, usability, accessibility, and user‑centered design practices.
• Proficiency with wireframing/prototyping tools; Figma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead UX designer on customer‑facing and employee‑facing design tasks.
• Gather requirements from users, stakeholders, product managers, researchers, and engineers.
