Job summary

Children’s Home Society of South Dakota is offering an internship opportunity for Associates or Bachelor-level students to work in our residential program, providing supervision and trauma-informed care to children.

You’ll join a compassionate team, earn $20 per hour with up to a $2/hr differential for evening, overnight and weekend shifts, and get support for balancing academics with hands-on professional development.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a post-secondary program with required internship hours.
• Ability to work in a residential setting with trauma-informed care.
• Willingness to collaborate across departments and participate in trainings.

Responsibilities

• Child Supervision: Nurture children through interactive strategies and maintain vigilant supervision.
• Team Participation: Work as a treatment team member and keep the unit clean and orderly.
• Data Management and Communication: Document handoffs and complete daily/weekly logs and incident reports.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure safety standards and monitor calls and visits per therapist guidance.
• Professional Development: Pursue Quality Improvement goals and attend required trainings and staff meetings.
