Helix Traffic Solutions, LLC is hiring a Traffic Control Apprentice to manage traffic around construction zones in Durham, NC. You will help keep workers, motorists, and pedestrians safe by setting up control zones and communicating directions clearly.

Qualifications

• Outdoor, field-based role in various weather conditions.
• Must stand/walk 8+ hours, lift up to 50 lbs.
• Learn and follow traffic control procedures and safety rules.
• Communicate instructions clearly and professionally.
• Teamwork with supervisors and colleagues.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Pre-employment drug screening required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Traffic Control/Flagger Certification provided by the company.

Responsibilities

• Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic around work zones using signs, paddles, or flags.
• Set up and remove temporary traffic control zones per project requirements and regulations.
• Communicate with drivers to guide traffic and ensure safety.
• Monitor traffic and construction activity to anticipate hazards.
• Coordinate with supervisors and team using radios or hand signals.
• Wear PPE and follow safety protocols."
• Assist with loading/unloading traffic control equipment as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
