Job summary

Students For Liberty (SFL) is seeking an experienced copywriter-turned-paid media specialist to craft persuasive campaigns across email, paid media, and more, while maintaining a consistent brand voice. This full-time role sits in the Direct Response Marketing department, reporting to the Direct Response Marketing Manager.

A successful candidate will align with libertarian ideals, understand SFL’s mission, and produce copy that drives measurable results across channels.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience managing paid media campaigns across Meta Ads and Google Ads.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Meta Ads Manager for setup, targeting, optimization and analysis.
  • Experience developing and managing Google Ads campaigns including Search and other types.
  • Hands-on experience with Meta Pixel, Conversions API, Google Tag Manager, and conversion event setup.
  • Strong understanding of paid acquisition strategy, funnels, targeting, retargeting and optimization.
  • Analytical skills to interpret data and turn it into actionable recommendations.
  • Knowledge of paid media metrics: CTR, CPC, CPM, CPL, CPA, conversion rate, ROAS.
  • Experience using Google Analytics to analyze traffic, behavior, acquisitions and conversions.
  • Strong understanding of paid media creative strategy and testing.
  • Experience with structured A/B and creative testing strategies.
  • Ability to brief copywriters and designers with clear, data-driven direction.
  • Experience managing and optimizing advertising budgets.
  • Proactive, accountable, and capable of independent problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, launch, manage, and optimize paid media campaigns across Meta Ads and Google Ads.
  • Develop paid acquisition strategies focused on donor acquisition, lead generation, traffic and conversions.
  • Manage campaign structure, audience targeting, retargeting, bidding, placements, and budget allocation.
  • Monitor performance and perform ongoing data-driven optimizations.
  • Develop and execute structured A/B testing across audiences, creatives, messaging, landing pages, and settings.
  • Analyze campaign data to identify performance trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Build and optimize retargeting across stages of the donor journey.
  • Set up, monitor, and troubleshoot conversion tracking (Meta Pixel, Conversions API, GTM, conversion events).
  • Collaborate with copywriters and designers to improve creatives and provide clear direction.
  • Monitor creative performance and identify fatigue, winning concepts, and iteration opportunities.
  • Manage paid media budgets and allocate spend based on objectives and performance.
  • Produce regular performance reports with metrics, insights, and recommended steps.
  • Identify issues, tracking problems, and growth opportunities and propose solutions.

Position summary

We’re currently seeking an experienced copywriter to write persuasive copy for a range of campaigns, including email marketing and paid media campaigns focused on awareness, conversions, and other goals, while maintaining a consistent brand voice across channels.

This is a full-time position, and you’ll be working in the Direct Response Marketing department, reporting to the Direct Response Marketing Manager.

A successful candidate will have a strong commitment to libertarian ideas, a solid understanding of SFL’s mission, and relevant experience writing persuasive copy that drives results.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, launch, manage, and optimize paid media campaigns across Meta Ads and Google Ads
  • Develop paid acquisition strategies focused on donor acquisition, lead generation, website traffic, and conversions
  • Manage campaign structure, audience targeting, retargeting, bidding strategies, placements, and budget allocation
  • Monitor campaign performance and make ongoing data-driven optimizations to improve results and efficiency
  • Develop and execute structured A/B testing strategies across audiences, creatives, messaging, landing pages, and campaign settings
  • Analyze campaign data to identify performance trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
  • Build and optimize retargeting strategies across different stages of the acquisition and donor journey
  • Set up, monitor, and troubleshoot conversion tracking, including Meta Pixel, Conversions API, Google Tag Manager, and conversion events
  • Collaborate with copywriters and designers to develop and continuously improve paid media creatives
  • Provide clear, data-driven creative direction and briefs based on campaign performance and audience insights
  • Monitor creative performance and identify creative fatigue, winning concepts, and opportunities for new iterations
  • Manage paid media budgets and allocate spend based on campaign objectives and performance
  • Produce regular performance reports highlighting key metrics, insights, learnings, and recommended next steps
  • Proactively identify performance issues, tracking problems, and growth opportunities and propose solutions
  • Stay current on paid media platform changes, advertising best practices, and emerging acquisition opportunities
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience managing paid media campaigns, preferably across Meta Ads and Google Ads
  • Strong hands-on experience with Meta Ads Manager, including campaign setup, audience strategy, optimization, and performance analysis
  • Experience developing and managing Google Ads campaigns, including Search and other relevant campaign types
  • Hands-on experience with Meta Pixel, Conversions API, Google Tag Manager, and conversion event setup
  • Strong understanding of paid acquisition strategy, campaign funnels, audience targeting, retargeting, and conversion optimization
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret campaign data and turn it into actionable recommendations
  • Strong knowledge of paid media metrics, including CTR, CPC, CPM, CPL, CPA, conversion rate, and ROAS
  • Experience using Google Analytics to analyze traffic, user behavior, acquisition, and conversions
  • Strong understanding of paid media creative strategy, including ad formats, hooks, messaging angles, and creative testing
  • Experience developing structured A/B and creative testing strategies
  • Ability to brief copywriters and designers and provide clear, data-driven creative direction
  • Experience managing and optimizing advertising budgets
  • Proactive, resourceful, and highly accountable, with a strong sense of ownership
  • Ability to independently identify performance issues and opportunities and propose solutions rather than relying solely on direction from others
Preferred (but not mandatory):
  • Experience with fundraising, nonprofit, or direct response marketing
  • Experience managing paid acquisition campaigns focused on donations or donor acquisition
  • Experience with tracking and attribution, including client-side and server-side tracking
  • Experience with LinkedIn Ads and TikTok Ads
  • Knowledge of website optimization, SEO, and organic acquisition strategies
  • Familiarity with the liberty and free-market intellectual movement and its donor community
