Job summary

Cache Valley Electric is seeking a motivated student for a Project Engineer Internship in Salt Lake City, Logan, UT, and surrounding areas. You will support project managers and engineers, review drawings, assist with RFIs/submittals, and help coordinate office-to-field documentation and procurement.

You will participate in planning meetings, track milestones, and learn cost tracking, change orders, and project closeout.

Qualifications

• Current pursuit of a relevant degree in construction or engineering.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities are essential.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• Basic proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Comfort working both in office and active construction-site environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers and Project Engineers with day-to-day project activities.
• Collaborate with project management, field supervision, and team members.
• Review drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Help prepare and track RFIs and submittals.
• Coordinate project documentation between office and field.
• Assist with procurement, tracking, and delivery coordination.
• Participate in planning, coordination, and progress meetings.
• Track project schedules, milestones, and deadlines.
• Learn cost tracking, forecasting, and change management.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs and estimating tasks as needed.
• Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and project partners.
• Visit active sites to gain field exposure and learn installation methods.
• Support safety practices and project closeout documentation.
