Job summary

Capital District Physicians Health Plan Inc seeks a Healthcare Analytics Intern for a 10‑week paid summer program in Buffalo. You will extract and analyze healthcare data, develop dashboards, and support data-driven decision making under mentorship.

The internship provides development workshops, exposure to leadership, and opportunities to work on meaningful healthcare projects across analytics, IT, and business tracks. Housing is not provided.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a full‑time undergraduate or graduate degree program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Experience with data analysis and Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau).

Responsibilities

• Extract, validate, and analyze healthcare data (claims, enrollment, provider, quality).
• Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analyses for leadership and operations.
• Document business requirements, data definitions, and analytical methodologies.
• Assist with data visualization and storytelling by translating findings into clear summaries.
• Learn healthcare analytics concepts including utilization, cost and trend analysis.
