Job summary

NiSource is seeking a Summer Continuous Improvement Intern in Columbus, OH to assist CI staff on projects within the Operational Excellence Department. You will analyze opportunities, standardize processes, and contribute to project management while learning in a team environment.

The 12-week program begins in May 2027. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Columbus and be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Current student of an accredited four-year Engineering or Business program.
• Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate study.
• Ability to work 40 hrs/week.
• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement principles.
• Strong analytical abilities to address process challenges.
• Proven communication skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist CI staff on CI projects within the Operational Excellence Department.
• Evaluate and analyze continuous improvement opportunities; standardize and document processes.
• Provide project management at various levels of complexity.
• Create process documentation using Visio.
• Learn and contribute while starting in Summer 2027.
