Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan invites students enrolled in welding programs to join our 2027 Summer Skilled Trades Internship as a Boilermaker Welder. These temporary, full-time paid positions run May through August across sites in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas.

You will perform welding tasks (SMAW, FCAW/GMAW, TIG), assist welders, complete work orders and follow safety standards. Applicants should be enrolled or recent graduates with welding credentials; the program excludes visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an associate degree or certification program in welding.
• Recent graduate (within 12 months) with an associate degree or certification in welding.

Responsibilities

• Assist with a variety of welding processes such as SMAW, FCAW/GMAW, TIG Welding, Carbon Arc Gouging.
• Assist Boilermaker Welders with routine welding and maintenance activities including fabrication to blueprints or field fabrication.
• Assist with completion of work orders and other maintenance documentation.
• Perform other duties as required.
