Job summary

The Hormel Institute, University of Minnesota, invites students to join the SURE Internship program in Austin, MN for May–August 2027. Interns will work under scientists in biomedical labs, gaining hands-on research experience in wet, dry, or mixed environments.

Weekly professional development sessions and a final poster presentation at the Hormel Institute Symposium are included. Housing options are available on a limited basis for eligible participants.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pursuing a science or math related undergraduate degree at a two- or four-year college or University.
• 3.0 minimum GPA.
• Previous coursework or lab experiences in Chemistry and/or Biology.
• Community involvement & leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with scientists in biomedical labs on assigned research projects and gain hands-on experience in wet or dry lab environments.
