Job summary

The City of Chicago Department of Aviation is offering a Student Intern position in Chicago. The internship involves supporting program activities through clerical tasks, data collection and analysis, and public information duties within various sections of the department.

Applicants must be enrolled students in an accredited program and will need to submit transcripts, enrollment verification, and a resume. A background check and Security Threat Assessment are required.

Qualifications

• Must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or law school OR a student currently enrolled in an accredited business or data processing/ information technology school.
• You must submit a resume, current transcripts (unofficial transcripts acceptable if GPA shown) and a current Letter of Enrollment Verification at time of hire.
• Cumulative GPA requirements: 2.5/4.0 or 3.5/5.0 depending on scale.
• Candidates selected must pass an airport background check and a Security Threat Assessment (STA).
• Selection based on qualifications best suited for the responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform administrative functions to support program activities.
• Compile, tabulate and analyze statistical data; research information for studies/reports.
• Use software to type documents, create graphs/charts/spreadsheets; maintain databases.
• Provide general information regarding programs and services to the public.
• Maintain records and prepare work reports.
• Perform office clerical functions.
• Participate in organization/setup/administration of special events and activities.
• Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
