Paid Search (PPC/SEM) Specialist

The Basics

Atypic is a Charlotte, NC multidisciplinary digital marketing and brand development agency doing kick-ass work for some amazing brands and people. We are currently seeking a talented Paid Search Specialist to join our creative team.

This is a hybrid position. You must be able to commute to our Charlotte office at least 3 times a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, build, and manage paid campaigns in Google Ads across Search, Display, Shopping, YouTube, and Performance Max.
  • Conduct keyword research, audience targeting, and A/B testing to continuously improve campaign performance.
  • Monitor campaign performance, optimize bids and budgets, and ensure KPIs are being met or exceeded.
  • Analyze performance data, create reports, and provide actionable insights to internal teams and clients.
  • Prepare and speak in monthly client reporting calls, clearly communicating results, optimizations, and strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate with content, design, and account teams to align ad copy and creative with campaign goals.
  • Stay up to date on Google Ads best practices, new features, and industry trends.
  • Assist with landing page recommendations and CRO strategies through onsite heatmap tracking to enhance campaign effectiveness.
  • Support SEO initiatives when needed, including basic keyword research, on-page SEO, and technical collaboration.
  • Contribute to overall digital marketing strategy and brainstorming sessions.

Skills To Pay The Bills:

  • Required: 1-2 years of hands-on experience managing Google Ads campaigns (Search, Display, Shopping, etc.)
  • Experience working with Google Analytics 4 (Google Tag Manager and Looker Studio is also a plus!)
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with reporting tools
  • Familiarity with SEO principles and digital marketing fundamentals
  • Google Ads certifications (preferred)
  • Strong communication, public speaking, time management, and organizational skills
