Job summary

The Sanford nursing intern program is a hands-on, 10-week paid internship designed to develop confidence and competence in clinical nursing skills. It provides mentorship by a licensed professional and opportunities across patient care settings to support graduation readiness.

Open to students enrolled in an accredited RN program and enrolled in an approved internship course. After the summer term, there may be a chance to extend into the school year, with potential relocation or scheduling

Qualifications

• Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited RN program (associate or bachelor degree) and have participated in an academic clinical experience.
• Must be enrolled in a board of licensed clinical practice approved internship course.

Responsibilities

• The intern participates in a learning experience designed to develop confidence and competence in clinical skills to facilitate a smooth transition into a licensed role after graduation.
• The internship program assists students in finding an area of nursing clinical practice that best fits their career goals, talents and interests.
• The intern cares for patients in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow‑up as patients move in and out of care settings.
• The intern follows a real schedule and performs tasks of direct and indirect patient care and supports department activities.
