Job summary

WellSpan Health in Ephrata is offering a Summer 2027 Nurse Externship at Ephrata Hospital. This paid clinical experience runs May 17, 2027 to July 10, 2027 with two 4-week unit experiences.

Externs will work under a 1:1 RN preceptor, with rotating shifts and a minimum 36 hours per week. Eligible RN students are in their final semester/year and have completed Medical-Surgical rotations. Areas of rotation include Surgical Unit, Medical Unit, ED, ICU, Progress Care IMCU, and Operating Room.

Qualifications

• Must have completed Medical Surgical rotation in accredited nursing program prior to start of externship.
• Must maintain good standing status in accredited nursing program.
• RN student entering final semester/year (graduation in winter 2027 - summer 2028).
• Must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum work commitment of 36 hours per week.
• Rotating shifts based on preceptor schedule.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through Surgical Unit.
• Rotate through Medical Unit.
• Rotate through Emergency Department.
• Rotate through Intensive Care Unit.
• Rotate through Progress Care IMCU.
• Rotate through Operating Room.
