Job summary

NRDC (the Natural Resources Defense Council) offers graduate interns a paid opportunity to work with lawyers, scientists, and policy analysts on climate, nature finance, and environmental policy. Interns report to the Managing Director of the Nature Innovation Hub and may be based in New York City or Washington, DC, with onsite attendance one day per week.

Highlights include development of nature tax and finance legislation, oil and gas revenue policy reforms, and opportunities to contribute

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a graduate program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Research and/or data analysis skills.
• Initiative, proactiveness, and creativity.
• Able to work independently.
• Commitment to NRDC’s mission, values, and DEI principles.

Responsibilities

• Support ongoing projects in NRDC's Nature Innovation Hub.
• Report to the Managing Director, Nature Innovation Hub.
• Based in either Chicago, New York, or Washington, DC; onsite one day per week.
• Work on nature tax and finance legislation and related policy reforms.
• Prepare policy papers and two-page summaries for policymakers.
