POSITION SUMMARY

NRDC's Nature Department is seeking several graduate interns to support ongoing projects and priorities for our newly created Nature Innovation Hub. Interns will report to the Managing Director, Nature Innovation Hub, and may be based in either our Chicago, New York or Washington, DC office. Semester interns are expected to work onsite one day per week, depending on their school schedules.

The Nature Innovation Hub, a project of NRDC, is working to make it harder to destroy nature and easier to conserve it by altering the economics of nature finance. Its approach centers on durable policy mechanisms, including tax law and permanent finance. The Hub focuses on re-envisioning funding structures, laws, and policies that strengthen permanent U.S. nature finance and reduce subsidies for extractive development and pollution.

Interns will have opportunities to work on multiple projects, including the development of nature tax and finance legislation; oil and gas revenue policy reforms; invasive species policy; and agricultural investments and incentives. Work supporting nature tax and finance legislation will include policy papers and research.
