Job summary

Sea Mar Community Health Centers, a Federally Qualified Health Center, offers a 12-15 month Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program preparing students for the CCMA credential. The program is registered through the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries and includes paid on-the-job training plus 364 hours of coursework.

Apprentices will complete 2000 hours of hands-on training with guidance from an MA coach, attend in-person labs, and log hours and skill practices.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• BLS/CPR certification required (or within 90 days of hire).
• Ambulatory or family medicine experience preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for visits, obtain histories and vital signs.
• Track and document clinical quality measures in the EHR.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, and charting.
• Administer medications and immunizations within MA-A scope of practice.
• Coordinate referrals, labs, and specialty care.
• Support providers seeing an average of 18–21 patients per day.
• Provide excellent customer service using the AIDET model.
