Job summary

Vylor is seeking a Paid Media Strategy Leader to develop and oversee paid media initiatives for North America marketing. Lead internal media buying, budgeting, and measurement to drive growth for Vylor seed brands and licensing & distribution.

The role covers programmatic, endemic/native, TV, radio, and print; focuses on data-informed strategies, team development, and operational excellence. Strong leadership and analytics required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, advertising, PR, or agricultural comms.
  • Eight+ years in ag/adjacent business, agency, or similar with strong writing, media planning, and strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead Vylor internal paid media buying and planning.
  • Develop data-informed, audience-first media strategies across target segments.
  • Oversee campaign planning, budgeting, media mix modeling, and go-to-market across programmatic, endemic/native, traditional media.
  • Establish SOPs for paid media implementation, tagging, tracking, and reporting.
  • Evaluate and onboard ad tech platforms (DSPs, DMPs, analytics, tagging).
  • Oversee media partner RFPs, planning decks, budgets, and calendars.
  • Mentor paid media and search roles; act as player-coach.
  • Foster cross-functional alignment with analytics, content, creative teams.
  • Lead campaign dashboards using GA4 and Looker Studio; drive optimization.

Vylor is seeking an experienced and strategic Paid Media Strategy Leader to develop, grow, and oversee paid media initiatives as part of the North America Marketing Communications in-house team. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on building an industry leading media function and discipline that drives business outcomes for the Vylor seed brands including Pioneer, Brevant, Hoegemeyer, AgVenture, and Licensing & Distribution.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding and working knowledge in omni-channel media planning, including programmatic, endemic, native, print, radio, and TV, while simultaneously guiding strategy, team development, budgeting, and operational excellence. The role will ensure the Vylor paid media efforts are efficient, innovative, insights-driven, measurable, and aligned with both business objectives and industry best practices.

Role Description
Paid Media Strategy & Investment Planning
  • Build and lead the Vylor internal paid media buying and planning function
  • Develop and execute data-informed, audience-first media strategies to support business goals across target customer segments (retailers, growers, channel partners)
  • Oversee campaign planning, budgeting, media mix modeling, and go-to-market strategies across:
    • Programmatic (display, CTV/OTT, audio, video)
    • Endemic & Native Media (ag publishers, sponsored content)
    • Traditional (radio, TV, print)
Operational Leadership & Execution
  • Establish standard operating procedures for paid media implementation, tagging, tracking, and performance reporting
  • Evaluate and onboard ad tech platforms (e.g., DSPs, DMPs, analytics, tagging solutions)
  • Engage with media technology and vendor considerations, ensuring cost-efficiency and future scalability
  • Oversee media partner RFP’s, media planning presentations and decks, campaign budgets, and media calendars
Team Development & Coaching
  • Mentor a paid media specialist role and a search marketing role to guide their day-to-day tasks
  • Operate as a player-coach—executing and optimizing campaigns
  • Foster cross-functional alignment with in-house strategic comms, content, creative, and analytics teams
Performance Management & Insights
  • Lead the design and deployment of campaign performance dashboards using platforms such as Google Analytics 4, Looker Studio, and vendor insights
  • Drive continuous optimization through A/B testing, bid strategy adjustments, audience refinement, and creative performance reviews
  • Communicate performance and strategic impact to stakeholders, including executive leadership, marketing managers, and business units
  • Represent paid media best practices within the broader organization, contributing to media education and capability-building
  • Evaluate industry trends and competitive benchmarks to maintain leadership in agriculture marketing
Requirements
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in the field of marketing, advertising, public relations, or agricultural communications
Experience
  • Eight or more years with an ag/adjacent business, a communications agency, or other professional experiences performing similar work with an emphasis on excellent writing skills, media planning, message development and strategic planning
Additional knowledge, abilities and skills for this position
  • 5+ years in a supervisory or leadership role within an agency or in-house team
  • Proven track record in omni-channel media strategy, including programmatic, endemic/native, TV, radio, and print
  • Strong background in data analytics, attribution modeling, and ROI optimization
  • Knowledge of Google Ads, DV360, Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, The Trade Desk, and ad serving/tagging technologies
  • Experience managing large-scale budgets and working with cross-functional teams
Preferred
  • Experience in agriculture, B2B, or rural marketing sectors
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, audience segmentation tools, and first-party data strategy
  • Experience launching or guiding in-house media functions and guiding organizational change
