Job summary

Quantum Signal AI is seeking a Summer 2027 Mechatronics Engineering Intern to join the Mechatronics team in Saline, Michigan. The role involves designing mounts and mechanisms, building and integrating hardware, and collaborating with multidisciplinary engineers on active projects.

You will gain hands-on experience in electromechanical systems, soldering, testing, and documentation while contributing to real engineering challenges in a collaborative R&D environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related program with sophomore standing or higher.
• Experience using CAD software (Fusion 360, Catia, SolidWorks, etc.).
• Hands-on experience through coursework, clubs, competitions, research, personal projects, or previous work.

Responsibilities

• Design mounts and mechanisms to support electromechanical systems using CAD software.
• Build, assemble, and integrate prototype and production hardware (mechanical and electromechanical subsystems).
• Troubleshoot systems and identify improvement opportunities for practical engineering solutions.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and research engineers on active projects.
• Participate in design reviews and problem solving with the Mechatronics team.
• Perform electrical work including soldering, crimping, and creating wire harnesses.
• Document designs, testing activities, and engineering processes for project execution.
