Job summary

Quantum Signal AI, LLC invites students to apply for a Summer 2027 Mechatronics Engineering Internship in Saline, MI. The role blends mechanical design, assembly, and testing of electromechanical systems in an R&D setting, with mentorship and real-world project exposure.

You will join a multidisciplinary team, design using CAD, build prototypes, and contribute to ongoing projects while learning through hands-on engagement and reviews. In-person collaboration is emphasized at our Saline location.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a mechanical or mechatronics engineering student (sophomore or higher).
• Experience with CAD software (Fusion 360, Catia, SolidWorks, etc.).
• Hands-on engineering experience from coursework, clubs, competitions, or projects.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting mindset with practical approaches.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and perform physical tasks as required.

Responsibilities

• Design mounts and mechanisms for electromechanical systems using CAD tools.
• Assemble and integrate prototype hardware and subsystems.
• Troubleshoot systems and identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and research engineers on active projects.
• Participate in design reviews and problem-solving sessions.
• Perform electrical work including soldering, crimping, and wire harnessing.
• Document designs, testing activities, and processes for project execution.
