Job summary

The American Bankers Association is offering an internship in Washington, DC, with paid, full-time work for law students from June 7, 2027 to August 13, 2027. The role includes trademark and copyright work, contract review, legal research, policy drafting and legislative monitoring.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited J.D. program and plan to return Fall 2027.
• Familiarity with financial services, IP, and corporate matters.
• Strong drafting, research and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare trademark and copyright applications, review certificates and licenses.
• Review contracts for small-dollar items (<$5,000) and draft amendments.
• Research for The Docket; summarize federal/state regulatory actions.
• Draft policies and support policy development.
• Monitor state legislation and assist staff with actions.
• Prepare briefings, charts and white papers as needed.
