Highgate Hotels in Irving, TX, is offering an Internal Audit Intern position for a 10-week onsite program starting in June. You will work with seasoned audit professionals across hotel properties, gaining exposure to audit planning, compliance reviews, data analysis, and reporting within our hospitality portfolio.

The role emphasizes accounting/finance fundamentals, strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, and the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or Hospitality Finance (in progress) or a similar degree.
• Minimum Junior status.
• Knowledge of accounting and/or finance principles.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and reports) and PowerPoint skills.
• Ability to commit to a 10-week onsite internship (June–August).
• Must reside in the Dallas, TX area during the internship and work onsite in Irving, TX.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Must be organized with the ability to work accurately in a time-efficient manner.
• Demonstrate communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with internal audits for hotel properties and corporate functions, including reviewing compliance with SOPs.
• Gather information and supporting documentation during audits.
• Assist with preparing internal audit reports, including findings and recommendations for improvement.
• Support quarterly monitoring and verification of SOX compliance for applicable properties.
• Maintain SOPs, process documentation, and internal control materials.
• Support initiatives focused on improving efficiency, accuracy, and reporting processes.
• Assist with accounting training and the development of supporting materials.
• Assist with ad hoc audit projects and other departmental initiatives.
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
