Hawaiian Electric Company invites motivated students to join our Summer Intern - Human Resources Rotational Program in Honolulu. You will rotate through HR teams, gaining exposure to HR operations, workforce planning, organizational development, labor relations, client services, and total rewards.

Interns receive mentorship, participate in professional development, and deliver a project integrating learning across functions.

Qualifications

• Must be a current, active student at a post-secondary school (college, community college)
• Must be in good academic standing
• Must be attending school Fall 2027
• Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
• Majors: HR, Business, Management, Organizational Leadership, Psychology, Sociology, Communications, Economics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, Public Administration or related disciplines.
• For Summer 2027, graduation date December 2027 or later accepted

Responsibilities

• Participate in multiple HR rotations across Operations, Workforce Planning, Organizational Development, Labor Relations, Client Services, and Total Rewards
• Assist with projects in workforce data analysis and reporting
• Support talent and workforce planning initiatives and learning programs
• Contribute to organizational effectiveness and employee engagement efforts
• Assist with compensation, benefits analysis and HR process improvements
• Engage in employee communications and change management activities
• Develop and manage HR-related project work across rotations
• Collaborate with interns and HR professionals on strategic HR initiatives
