Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. seeks environmental interns for Summer 2027 in the Baton Rouge/New Orleans area. This paid full-time internship runs June through August 2027, with potential for full-time conversion after graduation.

You will work under project managers, partnering with engineers, scientists, and technologists. The role requires fieldwork predominance, outdoor comfort, and strong data collection and writing skills.

Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years old.
Juniors or seniors pursuing a Bachelor or Associate Degree in Natural Resource Ecology and Management, Environmental Science or Environmental Biology or related field.
Minimum GPA of 3.0.
Comfort outdoors and ability to work in various weather conditions.
Excellent data collection, technical writing and communication skills.
Collaborative, organized, self-motivated and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

Assist on environmental permitting and compliance projects.
Assist with wetland delineations, wildlife and plant surveys and other fieldwork.
Document research and field investigations, including surveying and data recovery.
Perform water quality sampling, vegetation mapping or brownfield fieldwork.
Support field leads, deployments, field inspections, and related tasks.
Work 10–12 hour days in high heat, six days a week; travel 75% of the time.
