Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. is seeking highly motivated Environmental Interns for our Summer 2027 intern program in Greenville, SC. This paid full-time position runs June through August 2027, with potential to transition into a full-time role after graduation.

The interns will work under Project Managers and Team Leaders, collaborating with engineers, scientists, and technologists on diverse projects, gaining practical field and office experience in environmental engineering and related disciplines.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license.
• Pursuing Bachelor or Associate Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid technical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, detail oriented person.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Experience with engineering software applications (AutoCAD, Mathcad, ESRI, Hydro Cad, Water Cad, ArcView GIS, etc.) is preferred but not required.
• OSHA 40-hour safety or 30-hour OSHA safety training preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support various project tasks including regulatory requirements/review estimates, research, procurement support, etc.
• Perform data entry, data management, data evaluation, and data presentation
• Field assistance with groundwater sampling, soil sampling, soil vapor sampling, ecological risk assessments etc.
• Field work oversight such as soil excavation, remediation, due diligence inspections, etc.
• Perform engineering calculations and design assistance for government, commercial, and industrial properties as needed.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as necessary.
