Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. is seeking highly motivated Environmental Interns for our Summer 2027 internship program in the Chicago, IL office. This paid full-time position runs June through August 2027 with a potential transition to a full-time role after graduation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor or Associate Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with engineering software applications is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support project tasks including regulatory requirements/review estimates and procurement support.
• Perform data entry, data management, data evaluation, and data presentation.
• Field assistance with groundwater sampling, soil sampling, and ecological risk assessments.
• Field work oversight such as soil excavation, remediation, and due diligence inspections.
• Perform engineering calculations and design assistance for various properties.
