Job summary

First Merchants Corporation invites college students to participate in a 12-week Summer Internship Program. This paid internship offers hands-on experience in financial services, mentorship, and exposure to senior leadership through project work across banking functions.

As an Enterprise Risk Management Intern, you will support day-to-day risk activities, help turn risk data into dashboards, learn governance and regulatory processes, and present learnings at an Internship Meet & Greet with

Qualifications

• Be a full-time Bachelor degree‑seeking student at an accredited college or university.
• Be available to work 40 hours per week from May 17th- August 6th, 2027.
• Be authorized to work in the United States.
• Have demonstrated interest in the industry and/or specific area of interest.
• Possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Be able and willing to travel periodically throughout the First Merchants footprint, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Support Enterprise Risk Management through day-to-day responsibilities, projects, and initiatives.
• Gain exposure to risk-informed decisions and governance in a regulated bank.
• Learn to turn raw risk data into decision-useful information and build dashboards.
• Help classify and document risks and controls; assist with remediation and escalation.
• Participate in piloting AI-enabled solutions with governance controls; present learnings.
• Engage in Internship Meet & Greet events and present a summary of experience.
