Job summary

First Merchants Bank in Indianapolis, IN, offers a 12-week paid Summer Internship Program for current college students. The Enterprise Risk Management Intern role provides hands-on exposure to risk governance, data analysis, dashboards, and reporting, with mentorship from experienced professionals.

Successful interns will gain cross-functional experience across departments, participate in a community service project, and present learnings to senior leadership at the program's conclusion.

Qualifications

• Be a full-time Bachelor degree-seeking student at an accredited college or university.
• Be available to work 40 hours per week from May 17 – August 6, 2027.
• Be authorized to work in the United States.
• Have demonstrated interest in the industry and/or specific area of interest.
• Possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Be able and willing to travel periodically throughout the First Merchants footprint, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Support the Enterprise Risk Management team with day-to-day responsibilities and projects.
• Gain exposure to risk governance, data analysis, and reporting for executive leadership and the Board.
• Learn to turn risk data into decision-useful information and build dashboards.
