Job summary

The Ohio Department of Transportation is offering a paid ODOT College Internship in Civil Engineering at District 1 HQ in Lima, Ohio. This part-time internship provides real-world experience across construction, design, planning, and surveying, with flexible hours around your school schedule.

Interns will rotate through duties such as inspecting contractor work, using CADD (MicroStation), collecting field data, and supporting traffic engineering studies while enrolled in an accredited college

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a college or university and in good academic standing.
• Must show proof of valid driver's license to operate state vehicle.
• Technical and professional focus on transportation and civil engineering.

Responsibilities

• Inspect contractor work and observe highway projects during construction.
• Assist on small design tasks, use CADD (MicroStation), and update drawings.
• Support planning activities, traffic studies, and data collection.
• Perform surveying tasks and collect field measurements.
• Maintain records and help prepare project reports.
