Job summary

Griffith Company offers a paid summer internship in California for students pursuing Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or Mathematics. You will support Project Managers, Estimators and field personnel, handling CPM schedules, submittals, RFIs, and take-offs while gaining real-world site experience and mentorship from senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or Mathematics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work with project teams and adapt to field environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform job site administration and documentation (under supervision).
• Assist in developing and maintaining a CPM schedule.
• Track submittals, RFIs and contract change orders, daily cost vs. project budget, quantities and equipment and project logs.
• Attend bid review meetings with estimating team to understand the estimate process.
• Review proposal specifications, drawings, soils reports and existing site conditions to determine scope of work.
• Complete material and quantity take-offs according to project scope of work.
• Assist superintendent and foreman with layout and other technical requirements.
• Assist with diesel emissions control plans and monitoring.
• Prepare work plans and storm water protection plans.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
