Job summary

Foundation for Individual Rights in Education invites current undergraduates in the United States to join a year-long, paid remote program to promote civil liberties on college campuses. Campus Scholars will work with FIRE’s staff to develop a personal project, funded by a FIRE grant, and collaborate remotely from Oct 2026 to May 2027.

Selected scholars will participate in a fully funded Student Development Summit in early 2027, with all travel costs covered by FIRE.

Qualifications

• Undergraduates from US colleges/universities who want to engage in free speech advocacy.
• Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
• Interest in civil liberties and campus activism.

Responsibilities

• Create a personal project aligned with FIRE’s mission and funded by a FIRE grant.
• Attend the FIRE Student Development Summit in early 2027 (fully funded).
• Assist with research, development, and outreach tasks during the semester.
• Recommend peers to FIRE events and internship programs.
• Submit a final impact report detailing outcomes.
