UPMC Insurance Services Division is seeking Actuarial Interns for Summer 2027 in Downtown Pittsburgh. This is a paid internship starting at $25/hour and adjusted for exams passed, with a hybrid work model combining remote and in-office work.

Interns will work with actuaries to analyze trends, develop models, and support rate development. Preference is given to those pursuing Actuarial Science or who have passed at least one actuarial exam; strong Excel and SQL skills are expected.

Formación

• Pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science or related STEM field.
• Preference given to candidates who have passed at least one actuarial exam.
• Strong technical and analytical skills are required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and similar tools.

Responsabilidades

• Work with actuaries to analyze emerging trends and key drivers of financial performance.
• Provide insights to leadership with recommendations to complex business problems.
• Assist in developing mathematical models with other departments to predict the impact of proposed changes.
• Provide analytical support for rate development and filings.
• Learn about the different actuarial roles within Health Insurance and Workers' Compensation.
