Job summary

Wabash Valley Power Alliance in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Intern to assist our accounting team this summer. You will support routine journal entries, reconciliations, budget preparation, and month-end close activities under supervision.

Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with foundational coursework completed. Strong Excel skills and confidentiality are required; housing is not provided.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with foundational coursework completed.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with accounting systems is a plus.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly journal entries under supervision.
• Support account reconciliations and variance research.
• Assist with budget preparation and supporting schedules.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation.
• Participate in month-end close activities and ad hoc projects.
• Collaborate with team to meet deadlines and ensure accuracy.
