Job summary

EMED Group's Bristol Ambulance service is hiring a Retrieval Care Assistant to join the Paediatric Retrieval Team based in Aztec West, Bristol. The team operates 24/7 across the South West and Wales, coordinating with Neonatal and Paediatric Intensive Care units to stabilise and transport young patients to specialist care.

The role requires a C1 driving licence and blue light qualification, and offers a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern (12-hour days and nights), comprehensive training, and

Qualifications

• C1 driving licence and blue light qualification are essential.
• Valid UK manual driving licence for at least 2 years (6 points max).
• Able to work a flexible shift pattern which consists of days and nights (08:30-20:30/20:30-08:30).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical fitness to assist patients with mobility needs.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively within a team and with patients.
• Assist with stabilising and transferring neonatal/paediatric patients.
• Ensure vehicles and equipment are maintained and checked.
• Collaborate with Neonatal and Paediatric Intensive Care teams.
