Job summary

EMED Group's Bristol Ambulance service is seeking compassionate Ambulance Care Assistants to join our team at Southmead Hospital, Bristol. In this full-time role you will support patients throughout their medical journeys, showing empathy and professionalism while assisting with transfers, lifts and patient handovers.

A full UK manual driving license is required; excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a team and independently
• Physical fitness to assist patients with mobility needs
• Full UK manual driving license (held for minimum 12 months if over 21, or 24 months if under 21)

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the transportation of end-of-life patients, ensuring empathy at all times
• Building rapport with patients and relatives
• Lifting, securing and helping patients in and out of the Ambulance
• Handing over patients to appropriate staff on arrival at treatment centres/hospitals or to family/friends at homes
• Transferring patients between beds, stretchers and chairs, inside and outside hospital settings
• Ensuring the ambulance is kept safe, clean and tidy
