Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position in California. The role requires ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications and Epic EMR proficiency, with a CA RN license and at least five years of acute care experience.

The PACU nurse will work a day shift (8:00 AM–4:30 PM) in a surgical recovery unit, collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver safe, high-quality care and participating in discharge planning. Local applicants welcome with potential traveler options.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience required.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• BSN preferred.
• Acute care facility experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Surgical Recovery unit within an acute care hospital setting.
• Day shift schedule, 5x8s, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
• Call requirement of 8 hours or less.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Delivers coordinated nursing care using the nursing process for assigned patients.
• Supervises and directs activities of assigned nursing staff and coordinates care across disciplines.
• Collects and analyzes patient assessment data to determine diagnoses and care priorities.
• Develops and implements care plans, evaluates patient progress toward outcomes.
• Collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare providers to deliver safe, humane, and healing care.
• Provides education to patients, families, and team members.
• Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
• Delegates and coordinates duties among healthcare team members.
• Candidates with more than 5 days of requested RTO will be automatically declined.
• Candidates with a prior adverse licensure action will not be considered.
• No radius restriction; local candidates accepted at the same rate as traveler candidates.
