Job summary

Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center seeks an anesthesia technician to prepare instruments and supplies for anesthesia procedures and to support the anesthesia team in monitoring high-risk patients.

You will assist the anesthesiologist/CRNA with invasive monitoring setup and patient transport, under supervision, and participate in the delivery of safe, high-quality care. The role requires flexibility in hours and a commitment to patient safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of advanced procedure-based patient care with medical equipment background.
• Basic computer skills and ability to read and follow instructions.
• Basic mathematics skills; leadership and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 500 pounds; stand/walk 100% of the workday.
• Must pass a written and skills demonstration (hands on) with at least 80%.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instruments, equipment and supplies for anesthetic procedures.
• Assist the Anesthesiologist/CRNA with invasive monitoring (arterial lines, CVP, swan-ganz, ICP) and transport of monitored/high-risk patients.
