Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN for a 6-week acute care assignment in California. The nurse must hold an active CA RN license and have recent PACU or critical care experience.

The role includes use of the Epic EMR and a day-shift 4x10 schedule within a 50-mile local radius for the local rate. Requirements also include BLS/ACLS/PALS, airway management experience, central lines, and a strong nursing process background.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA or ARC) certifications.
• Minimum 2 years recent clinical experience in critical care or PACU in an acute care setting of similar size and complexity.
• Minimum 2 years experience with airway management.
• Experience with central lines and post-procedure care in a critical care or PACU environment.
• Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the nursing process addressing physical, psychosocial, and psychological patient needs.
• Nursys license verification uploaded within the last 2 weeks.
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) of an acute care community hospital.
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts (10:00-20:30 or 10:30-21:00).
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to be considered a local candidate for local rate.
• Former travelers or staff must have a 1-year separation before returning to this facility.
• Max RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract.
• Observed holidays include New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
• Must be available to complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing.
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates.
• Only allowed to submit to one Sutter Health facility at a time.
