Job summary

TriCities Hospital is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse to provide immediate post-operative care for surgical patients. You will manage airway support, monitor neurological and cardiac status, and respond to complications, collaborating with the surgical and anesthesia teams.

You will perform initial wound care, ensure patient stability during recovery, and participate in on-call duties as discussed during interview. A BSN is preferred and licensing requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current RN license in Virginia or compact multistate license.
• ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of start date.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• PALS must be obtained within 6 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the PACU.
• Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams.
• Monitor airway, neurological and cardiac status, and respond to complications.
• Document patient condition and care provided during shift.
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment, and follow-up.
