Job summary

Parkridge Medical Center is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse to deliver immediate post-operative care for surgical patients and collaborate with the anesthesia and surgical teams. This role emphasizes airway management, neuro and cardiac monitoring, and rapid response to complications.

The position requires on-call availability during select non-business hours, with scheduling posted in advance. Candidates should have an RN license, an Associate Degree, and critical care experience.

Qualifications

• RN with an Associate Degree and active nursing license.
• At least 1 year of critical care experience (ICU/ER/PACU).
• ACLS/BLS/PALS or equivalent certifications as required within timelines.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care per evidence-based practices.
• Work within an interdisciplinary team including providers, therapy staff, and others.
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to ensure safe patient care.
• Assess patient condition, monitor throughout shift, and document changes thoroughly.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment, and follow-up.
