Methodist McKinney Hospital in McKinney, TX is seeking a registered nurse for preoperative and PACU care. You will perform preop assessments, verify labs and consents, and educate patients about procedures and recovery expectations.

The role requires Texas RN licensure with BLS, ACLS, and PALS at hire and preferably 2+ years in preop/PACU, critical care, or ED. EMR experience and a team-focused approach are essential for patient safety and smooth transitions.

Formación

• Current unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse in Texas
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certification required at time of hire

Responsabilidades

• Conducts comprehensive preoperative assessments and verifies documentation, labs and consents
• Provides patient education about procedures and postoperative expectations
• Initiates IV access, administers meds and prepares patients for surgery
• Monitors patients in PACU, assesses airway, vitals, pain and site status
• Administers interventions to manage pain, nausea or complications as ordered
• Documents care accurately in EMR and communicates with surgical teams and families
• Ensures safe discharge or inpatient transfer following recovery criteria
• Maintains cleanliness and readiness of Pre-op and PACU areas
• Participates in education, meetings and quality improvement initiatives
• Adheres to infection control and safety protocols
