Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a part-time PACU RN to provide patient-centered care in the post-anesthesia care setting in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The role supports a 3-days-one-week, 2-days-next-week schedule (0.5 FTE), with no weekends but occasional call and holiday call responsibilities. The RN will perform assessments, administer medications, monitor patients, and collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure safe, high-quality care around procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed RN.
• Experience in PACU or post-anesthesia care preferred.
• Knowledge of infection control and patient safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care using the nursing process.
• Assess patients, document findings, and report changes.
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects.
• Collaborate with physicians and care team to develop care plans.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions.
• Maintain infection control and safety protocols.
• Document care thoroughly in the medical record.
