Job summary

University of Miami is seeking a Registered Nurse 2 - Specialty - On Call to provide patient-family centered care in a culturally competent manner. You will oversee nurses and allied health staff in daily practice and coordinate plans with physicians and the care team.

The position requires a Florida RN license, ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience. You will work in a fast-paced environment, supporting discharge planning and documentation

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience
• Certification and Licensing: Valid State of Florida RN license; ACLS, BLS, PALS required
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Learning agility, teamwork, technical proficiency, and communication abilities

Responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients and document nursing care; report changes in condition and vital signs
• Modify patient treatment plans based on responses and physician orders
• Review, evaluate, and report diagnostic tests to assess patient condition
• Consult with physicians and care team to plan and evaluate patient care plans
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist with procedures
• Provide patient and family education and supportive care
• Supervise and mentor other staff as a preceptor; ensure HIPAA compliance
