Job summary

The University of Miami Health System is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse II - Specialty, On Call, weekend shift (Thursday–Sunday) to deliver patient-family centered care in a culturally competent manner, overseeing nursing and allied staff.

This role emphasizes evidence-based standards, medication administration, discharge planning, and collaboration with physicians to plan and evaluate patient care. A Florida RN license and a Bachelor's degree in Nursing are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Florida RN license required.
Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
Excellent communication with patients, families, and team.
Ability to supervise and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

Assess assigned patients and evaluate plans, documenting nursing care and vital signs.
Modify care plans based on patient responses and physician orders.
Review tests and report diagnostic findings to assess patient condition.
Consult with physicians and other professionals to plan and evaluate patient care.
Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
Assist with discharge planning and provide patient education.
