Job summary

Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse for full-time days (PRN shifts). The role requires caring for high-acuity post-anesthesia patients with skilled, evidence-based nursing practice and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

Applicants should have an approved nursing degree, Alabama RN license (or eNLC), and certifications (ACLS/NRP/PALS/TNCC/BLS). PACU experience is preferred, with call requirements and shift rotations built into the schedule.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Maintains current State of Alabama RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license.
• ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas.
• 1 year experience required unless approved by AVP level or above.
• Previous PACU exp needed.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates critical knowledge, skills, and judgement to care for patients requiring complex assessment and therapies.
• Utilizes information and assessment data to respond to rapidly changing patient conditions.
• Monitors and adjusts ECMO equipment and related monitoring when applicable.
• Communicates and collaborates with medical staff and interdisciplinary team to plan and manage patient care.
• Maintains compliance with Baptist Health policies and procedures.
