Job summary

AdventHealth DeLand is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team in a PRN Day shift in DeLand, Florida. You will assess patients across multiple domains, develop care plans, administer medications, and educate patients and families while coordinating with the care team.

The ideal candidate has an Associate Nursing degree (BSN preferred), Florida RN licensure, and 1+ year acute care experience. Strong communication, teamwork, and computer skills are essential for successful practice here.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in the state of Florida or eligible in Florida.
• ASN required; BSN preferred.
• 1+ year in acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Basic computer skills and ability to use Windows-based programs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients across physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care; regularly evaluate and revise them.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care; ensure effective communication.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and interventions; adjust to improve outcomes.
• Ensure infection control and safety compliance; provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Supervise and delegate care to team members to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in performance improvement activities.
