Job summary

CHS Career Site is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The RN provides patient-centered care through the nursing process from assessment to evaluation, coordinating with physicians and the care team to ensure high-quality outcomes.

The role includes post-anesthesia monitoring, medication administration, patient and family education, and participation in safety and infection control initiatives.

Qualifications

• RN license required or eligible for licensure in the state.
• BCLS required; ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred depending on unit.
• 0–2 years in clinical nursing or student rotations in acute care.
• Strong nursing process knowledge and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care per nursing process and policies.
• Conduct thorough assessments and document findings.
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects.
• Collaborate with physicians and care team on plans.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in code teams.
• Educate patients and families on post-op care and discharge.
• Maintain infection control standards and device management.
