Job summary

Massachusetts General Hospital's Post Anesthesia Care Units (PACU) offers a dynamic, 36-hour weekly rotation for registered nurses. You will provide critical care in a fast-paced setting, administering medications, monitoring patients, and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team in a major academic medical center.

Ideal candidates hold ASN or BSN with at least 2 years of acute care experience; BSN is preferred and new graduates are not eligible at this time.

Qualifications

• ASN or BSN required, BSN strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years acute care nursing experience.
• Previous experience in a critical care environment (ED, ICU, PACU) strongly preferred.
• New graduates cannot be considered at this time.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
• Administer medications to patients and monitor for reactions.
• Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate care plans.
• Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patient responses.
