Job summary

OCOM Hospital is seeking a skilled PACU Registered Nurse (RN) for our North Oklahoma City location. You will provide comprehensive perioperative care, collaborating with surgeons and anesthesia professionals to ensure safe recovery and smooth transitions from anesthesia.

The ideal candidate brings strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Current Oklahoma RN license or eligibility for licensure.
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and document findings accurately and timely.
• Prepare patients for surgical procedures according to established standards.
• Monitor patients during the immediate post-anesthesia recovery period.
• Assess, manage, and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and effectively.
• Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and discharge.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and staff.
• Respond to emergencies using ACLS, PALS and clinical protocols.
• Support quality, safety, and infection prevention initiatives.
