Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse with a BSN to provide high-quality patient care within our Illinois facilities. The RN will perform comprehensive assessments, develop and adjust care plans, and collaborate closely with patients, families, and the care team to meet clinical goals.

Responsibilities include discharge planning, education, safety practices, and adherence to ethical and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
• Adaptability and strong analytic abilities.
• ADN is acceptable with commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs a comprehensive assessment on all assigned patients and documents results.
• Communicates changes in patient’s condition promptly.
• Derives measurable outcomes and goals from nursing diagnoses and plans care accordingly.
• Collaborates with patient, family, and health care team for discharge planning and referrals.
• Assesses discharge needs and provides appropriate referrals and education.
• Ensures safe medication administration and patient education using teach-back methods.
