Job summary

The Hospital of Central Connecticut is seeking an experienced PACU Nurse to join our acute-care team in Connecticut. This 40-hour per week, rotating shifts position includes 11pm-7am calls and weekend coverage as part of a 24/7 operating room and recovery service. You will contribute to pre- and post-operative care in a busy PACU.

Ideal candidates hold a Connecticut RN license, ACLS and BLS, BSN preferred, and ICU/ED/step-down experience. We offer a supportive team and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• ACLS certification required for external candidates
• BLS certification required prior to date of hire
• ICU/ED/step-down experience preferred
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school
• Current Connecticut RN License

Responsibilities

• Provide pre- and post-operative care in PACU
• Initiate IVs, administer medications, educate patients, and document appropriately
• Manage postoperative recovery and follow ASPAN guidelines
• Work in a 10-bed PACU across multiple surgical services
• Maintain 2:1 nurse/patient ratio and participate in on-call requirements
